RISE RESEARCH COLLABORATION VISIT TO FOREST RESEARCH INSTITUTE MALAYSIA (FRIM)
On 17 August 2023, Reaction Intensification and Sustainable Energy (RISE) research cluster in FTKKP organized a research collaboration visit to Forest Research Institute Malaysia (FRIM). The visit was led by Dr. Mazni Ismail, FTKKP’s Deputy Dean of Research, with the primary objective of strengthening research collaborations and leveraging FRIM's expertise to address critical challenges in sustainable forest management and conservation. The visit was welcomed by the team from Wood Chemistry and Non-Wood Utilisation Programme under Forest Products Division, led by Dr. Latifah Jasmani.
During the visit, RISE members had the opportunity to tour FRIM's extensive research facilities, including experimental forests and laboratories. The visit to FRIM was a productive and mutually beneficial experience. It has paved the way for future joint research initiatives and knowledge exchange between the two institutions, contributing to the advancement of sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation, and environmental protection.
We look forward to further collaboration with FRIM and believe that our combined efforts will play a significant role in addressing the challenges faced by the forestry sector and promoting its long-term sustainability.
