An online Aspen Hysys Workshop was successfully organized by IEM-UMP Student Section on 8th January 2021 in collaboration with Student Affair & Alumni Department (SAFFAD), UMP.
The workshop was conducted by an expert in Aspen Hysys, Dr Abdul Halim Abdul Razik and it was attended by 27 UMP students from various courses.

The main objective of this program is to foster and provide exposure to UMP students into the world of professional engineering and help students to highlight their college experience through the involvement of activities organized by the IEM-UMP Student Section. Through this workshop, UMP students will have the chance to explore more on the requirements of Aspen Hysys software and able to learn and improvise their knowledge on this field. This workshop will somehow encourage students’ creative and innovative mindset.
In December 2020, FTKKP has successfully organized two workshops and one training session virtually. The first event held on 16th December 2020 did on the “Theoretical and Data interpretation for Advanced Material Characterization”. Initially, the workshop going to have a hands-on session at the laboratory under strict SOP, however due to COVID-19 cases rose in Pahang, the event was cancelled and only proceed with the talk session. About 20 participants consist of postgraduate students from UMP and other universities involved in the workshop. This workshop was organized by Advanced Material Cluster of FTKKP.
Meanwhile on 23rd December 2020, one training and one workshop were organized successfully. One day training of “Training for Registration and Commercialization of Cosmetic Products” managed to attract 58 participants from various organization. The purpose of this training is to give awareness and insights about the regulatory requirements for cosmetic product notification and to share knowledge on the process of product development and commercialization. This training was conducted by Cluster of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Technology, FTKKP.
On the same day, Reaction Intensification & Sustainable Energy Cluster (RISE) cluster was also successfully organized a workshop with title of “Theories & Data for Catalyst Characterization”. The total number of participants joined the workshop is 35, coming from different research backgrounds and institutions. Out of 35 participants, more than 70% of the participation comes from UTM, USM, UiTM, UKM, UniMAP, including 3 participants from the Faculty of Science and Data Analytics, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS), Indonesia.
On 20-21 November 2020, 32nd International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition 2020 (ITEX’20) was held virtually. FTKKP academicians have won two gold medals at the event. First gold medal awarded to project tiltle SIEx: Super Ion Exchange Resin for Innovative Water Treatment. The project was led by Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Norhayati Abdullah.

The second gold medal won by project led by Dr. Rajaletchumy Veloo Kutty with title Man-Pro Herbal Scalp Care. ITEX is where commercialisation of inventions/new products happens. Inventors can seek out potential investors here and convince them why funding their invention can benefit society.
