On Tuesday, 27 July 2021, the Faculty of Chemical & Process Engineering Technology (FTKKP) OBE Talk Series 1 on TVET and Engineering Technology practice webinar was successfully organized by the FTKKP BTK Quality Team via Google meet. This webinar was initiated as an awareness of Outcome Based Education (OBE) of the Engineering Technology program among the faculty staff. Two topics were presented during the webinar. The first topic was TVET Challenges in Terms of Curriculum and Best Practices, given by Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Ibrahim, Senior Dean of College Engineering Technology, UMP. The second topic was on Engineering Technology: Effective Course Design, given by Prof. Ts Dr. Che Ku Mohammad Faizal, Dean of FTKKP. The one and half-hour talk was attended by almost all of the academic and technical staff at FTKKP. The first talk highlighted the challenges in Malaysian TVET practices and the curriculum. While the second talk highlighted the Program learning outcome (PLO) Triangulate Assessment in the course, which involved learning domains of cognitive, psychomotor, and affective. Through this webinar, the FTKKP staff are expected to understand further the TVET challenges and the effective course design in the engineering technology program.
