The 6th International Conference of Chemical Engineering & Industrial Biotechnology (ICCEIB2022), with the theme "Establishment of Sustainable Technological Solution for Industry and Society", was successfully organized by the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology, Universiti Malaysia Pahang. The event which was held from 15-16 August 2022 witnessed the co-hosting with other renowned institutions, Nguyen Tat Thanh University (Vietnam) and Tianjin University (China).

Participants from all over the world, especially from Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Thailand, Iraq, and South Korea were attracted to present their thoughts and findings on the future prospects of sustainable food, energy, and clean water supply. The number of submitted extended abstracts exceeded the original target, standing at 290, with more than 65% of them selected for the oral presentation in ICCEIB2022.

ICCEIB2022 has successfully obtained the privilege to host a Special Issue in high-impact factor journals, namely, International Journal of Hydrogen Energy (Elsevier), Journal of Chemical Technology and Biotechnology (Elsevier), Chemical Engineering Technology (Wiley). The participants were also given the opportunity to submit to Materials Today: Proceedings (Elsevier) and AIP Conference Proceedings (American Institute of Physics). All the extended abstracts and manuscripts for full paper submissions were reviewed by our dedicated scientific committee members and appointed experts to determine their suitability for publication.

The success of the ICCEIB2022 conference depends entirely on the effort, talent, and energy of researchers in the fields of chemical engineering and industrial biotechnology who have written and submitted papers on various topics. Based on this encouraging and overwhelming participation, the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering Technology is driven and looks forward to organizing the Seventh edition in 2024.
